Meet Gypsy!
He belongs to Pet Rescue North, a small Jacksonville shelter. If interested in this dog, please contact the Shelter Director Peggy Haynes at 904-477-1000. Note: This shelter does not adopt out of state, to anyone with kids under 6yo and you must have a fenced yard.
Gypsy is a 7yo male blue merle Australian Shepherd with an unusually sweet personality. He weighs about 42# and has a docked tail. Unlike many Aussies, he is not hyperactive. Although he does enjoy exercise and play, he will also happily sit with you and watch TV. Gypsy is completely housetrained, loves to ride in the car and he gets along perfectly with other dogs. He sleeps in the bedroom with his foster family because he is so well behaved. He'd have great fun with older children who would spend time outdoors with him. Cats are great fun to chase if they run but if they are calm or stand their ground, he shows little interest in them.
Aussies are known for their intelligence, trainability, and for being “Velcro dogs,” who follow you everywhere you go. Gypsy is very much like this, and would quickly adapt to any family that showed him love and attention. He is eager to learn and would enjoy obedience training or even dog agility.
Gypsy is neutered, up to date on all shots, and has been successfully treated for heartworms. He has no known health problems, and with good nutrition, he becomes softer and prettier every day. He would make an excellent companion dog or family pet.
